Donald Trump officially banned the flights of Boeing 737 Max 8 and Max 9 in USA. After that, Boeing recommended everyone in the world to temporarily stop expluatation too.
What happened?
Few days ago the plane (Boeing 737) crashed in Ethiopia. 157 people died. Before that, in October 29, there was a crash in Jakarta, Indonesia. 189 people died. Some people say that both crashes have similarities – and they claim the MCAS system, implemented on this planes, for crashes.
What system? Whaaaat?
MCAS. This is electronic system made to prevent plane’s nose from going too high. It’s new – and only this new model has such systems. System works automatically – if it sees that plane’s nose is dangerously high, it tries to lower it.
Indonesia plane had problems with nose. Their plane because for some reasons tried to put nose too low, just to land. Pilots fought with that – but the system every time did it again and again. It seems, that MCAS was broken on that ship – and considered normal flight as “dangerously high”.Finally the plane just went down, to the sea
Some people claim, that new crash was also because of system.
What Boeing says?
They said that no one informed the pilots about the system properly because they didn’t want them to be overwhelmed by dozens of new info.
But after the first crash, they send instructions to all pilots – how to turn off this system. And the managers of Ethopian Airlanes say that pilots were informed. But it seems that Ethiopian pilots somehow missed them.
Boeing also refused the accusations about planes being broken – they insist that problems can happen with every system.
How Kazakhstan reacted?
As many other countries, Kazakhstan temporarily stopped the using of this plane. Actually, we have the only one – in SCAT company – but many more were purchased already.
It will not have the effects on tourism – SCAT have planes to replace this one.
What about the consequences?
For Boeing company, they can be bad. Their actions already fell dramatically – and they will definitely receive trials, at least from realtives of died people.
The plane, on the contrary, will not be harmed. It’s flagman of Boeing – and many countries purchased it already. But of course, now they will be more cautious – and pay more attention to electronic systems of the plane, such as this MCAS
What for me, huh?
Just do not worry. Scandal already got pretty big – and it can seem that these planes are dangerous, all planes are dangerous, “I SAID TO YOU, HAHAHA”, but no, it’s not true. According to statistics, planes are still one of the most safe ways of travel.
Because plane crashes always got so viral, it can seem for many people that they are very dangerous. We, in our redaction, believe that true journalism shouldn’t support such stereotypes. Mistakes can happen everywhere – but it doesn’t make all planes dangerous.

On Thursday, March 14, a government working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova arrived in Aktobe on a two-day working trip, the press service of the Akim of the Aktobe region reports.

School girl nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize
Swedish and Norwegian politicians nominated 16-year-old Swedish schoolgirl Greta Thunberg for the contribution to the environmental movement for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Thunberg attracted the attention of the public in August last year after she started a “school strike” in front of the parliament building in Stockholm. Every Friday she stood in front of the Riksdag with a call for politicians to begin fulfilling the terms of the Paris Treaty on the reduction of harmful emissions, saying she would not attend school until her wishes were fulfilled. With her slogans about climate change, the girl inspired thousands of schoolchildren across Europe to protest.
In late February, Thunberg held a demonstration in Berlin, in which about 4 thousand young people took part. The young activist was greeted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. She was invited to the UN climate conference and the World Economic Forum in Davos. In a recent survey dedicated to International Women’s Day, Swedish media called Thunberg the woman of the year.
The Paris Agreement is an agreement under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change that regulates measures to reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere since 2020.

In the West of Kazakhstan today is celebrated an ancient holiday- Көрісу айт or Амал. In translation it means meeting. Traditionally, on this day it is customary to go to each other and congratulate with the onset of spring. So, in the Mangystau region this holiday was celebrated in a big way. This tradition has been preserved only in Western Kazakhstan. A feature of the magnificent holiday are invited guests from abroad. Representatives of Turkey and Russia were also present. Festivities began in Aktau. There was a table, yurts and an exhibition of folk crafts. In addition to all this, a caravan was organized in which the participants reached mount Otpan in a good mood. Various sports competitions were presented for the entertainment of the guests.

A school student from Karaganda released a project of a source of energy in space.
Nowadays, all the satellites are working on ordinary solar batteries, however, Yerasyl Turarov, a student from NIS Karaganda, offered an alternative form of a thermoelectric effect. This project will not only increase the performance of satellites, but also increase energy of production. He won a Grand Prix in the competition of young researchers in Korea.
