As usual, nothing important happened here in Kazakhstan, in the last two days. But we should justify the subtopic name, aren’t we? Luckily for us, there was a protest meeting in Russia this Sunday 

What actually happened?

Protest meeting in Moscow, coordinated with authorities and organized by Libertarian party. Telegram also helped in organization. Pavel Durov’s social network made a mailing to all Russia users – calling to the meeting. As a result – 15000 people came. 
Police, despite of coordination, was very agressive. They took away the banners, grabbed people and put ballons to paddy wagons. 

Why people protested?

Recently there was signed a law, suggesting the full isolation of Russian internet from the world. Authorities said that this would help in “defending from outer enemies who can shut down the internet”

Why this is important for me?

Kazakhstan is strongly connected with Russia. Many laws adopted there become reality in Kazakhstan. Our internal political situation also depends on Russia – either in economics (sanctions are beating us too) or in authoritarianism (Putin’s regime fall will be a hard punch to Nazarbayev). And, most important thing – Kaznet is very connected to Runet. 

Why should i care about this meeting? It was not so big – and the authorities vere not shaken. 

This meeting is very important. Mostly because it showed the power of Telegram. Libertarian party is not a big one – no match to Navalny’s force. But the meeting was very strong – as strong as Navalny meetings. Probably because of Telegram. 

Pavel Durov fully joined the fight against the Russian government – and it’s hard to deny that he has tremendous influence. Telegram has millions of users, and Durov has access to all of them. Such resource is not obtained even by the most influential oppositioners as Navalny. Comparable resource have only the authorities – with their TV propaganda.
If Durov continues the support of Russian opposition, the government position will become even more fragile. They are already supported only by 30% of people. 
And, as i said, without Putin it will be hard to survive for Nazarbayev – because of that it’s important for Kazakhstan. 

Society 

Three-time world champion in track cycling, American Kelly Kathleen, committed suicide at the age of 23. This was announced by her father, Mark Kathleen, reports TASS. 

The body of the cyclist was found Friday night at her home in California. “There was not a single minute in which we would not recall her and the wonderful life she could live. The pain of loss is incredible,” said Mark Kathleen. He chose not to clarify the circumstances and causes of his daughter’s suicide. 
The chairman of the USA Cycling Federation (USA Cycling), Bob Demartini, in a statement released on Sunday, confirmed the cyclist’s death. “Kelly for us was more than an athlete, and will remain forever a member of the US cycling family. We pray and think about the Kathleen family. An incredibly difficult time has come for her family and friends, we want their right to privacy to be respected,” noted Demartini. 

Kelly Kathleen won gold medals in the women’s team competition at the world championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018. At the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro 2016, she took silver as a member of the American team.

M. Abylkasymova was born in 1978. She graduated from the Kazakh State Academy of Management with a degree in International Economic Relations, the University of Colombia with a Master’s degree in International Relations with a degree in Economic Policy Management, and the School Government School. Kennedy Harvard University with the award of the degree of Master of Public Administration.

On March 15, in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, the exhibition “great steppe: history and culture”will be opened. The event will begin at 17.00 PM during the Republic of Tatarstan in the exhibition hall “Manezh“, the state Museum-reserve”Kazan Kremlin”. It will last a month and will present the symbol of our country – the “Golden man”. Education 

There are a lot of interesting news on this topic, but the most attractive is about free courses for pupils. The project launched by Oyla science school on 4th of March, which plans is to train 500 pupils and release textbooks for high schools.

80 students have already signed up for these courses, and the main goal of these courses is to help for child to begin to understand and not to struggle with difficulties in the studying of the natural sciences such as physics, biology and chemistry. They are taught by 7 young specialists, who additionally completed training at the Oyla school, and also attended for courses in Finland. The program consists of several modules, which allows you to gradually study the subject. They have classes three times a week for two and a half hours in groups that are divided by level. This is done specifically to ensure that if the child does not feel discomfort being with more prepared children.

Schools of the city of Almaty are involved in the project. The second category is children who have passed a competition to participate which consist of an application and a motivational essay. The result of this program should be a textbook and as well as a fully developed methodology that can be sent to educational authorities for use in all schools in Kazakhstan.

The next news is expected if you know the temperament and personality of the protagonist.
